RemoteGPS for iPhone — Last updated: October 11, 2026

Summary: RemoteGPS does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to us or to anyone else. Your location is sent only over Bluetooth to your own camera and, if you enable it, written to GPX files on your iPhone. The app has no servers and makes no internet connections.

Data Collection

RemoteGPS does not collect any personal information. The app:

Location

RemoteGPS exists to give a DJI Osmo Action camera the GPS position it cannot measure itself. While the service is running, the app reads your iPhone's location and:

Location is never sent to us or to any third party. Background location access is used only so streaming to the camera continues while your iPhone is locked during filming; it stops when you stop the service.

Bluetooth

RemoteGPS uses Bluetooth to find and connect to your camera. It remembers the identifier of the last connected camera on your iPhone so it can reconnect faster. You can clear it with Settings → Forget Paired Camera.

Data Stored on Your Device

All of this stays on your iPhone and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Third Parties

RemoteGPS contains no third-party SDKs and shares no data with any service. RemoteGPS is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DJI.

Children

RemoteGPS does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because the app collects no data at all, no such information is processed.
